Well I'm a pal of Lindsey's (Ben Dover) so guess I should have heard it but come on, I'll start you with a very easy one that's much more original and mental:

Agree with mashed, especially with pop music, it's come on leaps and bounds since the nineties/2000's which were an all time low.

Re: Glastonbury...
There's been PLENTY of very good dance music and hiphop over the last 5 years.

Some of it quite close to commercial success as well.

See also indie, rock, and just about every other genre.

Giving it the whole "all modern music is bollocks and everyone who likes anything remotely popular is a cunt" is just such a lazy and depressing way to look at life.

It's one of the things you learn with age Mashed. The dad in Quadraphenia...... "Is that how they play giutar these days"

Chim, have you heard their old stuff, like Ben Dover meets Mike Skinner and The Streets.

Exactly.

I'm not exactly a lover of the top 10 but I bet all the sad old bastards on here spent a fair amount of their younger years listening to their dads moan about their choice in music too.

Now I love the Sleaford Mods but to say they are as 'out there or more out there' than anything that's come before is the kind of statement a man comes out with when he's had a but too much sun.

Actually, Panchoice, Saian Supa Crew feature in my music library more than once. X-Raisons is a superb album.

You know it's time to turn off the wireless when your 65 year old mum says... 'I like that new song by that man.... you know that black man called Rudy Mental'.

Re: Glastonbury...
Too easy to dismiss modern music, some of it is as good as anything in the past. Having a younger missus helps finding it.
The first Disclosure album for example is genius.
Sleaford Mods are as out there or more out there than anything else that came before though Jay is almost my age and been doing it for years before they became known. I have an album of theirs from 2005 and he was doing stuff way before then.
